From the 153rd General Assembly, this Act amends Title 29 to deny state-funded retirement and disability benefits to education employees convicted of specific child-related sexual offenses committed in connection with their employment. It also bars benefits if the individual is under indictment for such crimes and remains outside the U.S. for over one month to evade prosecution. Survivor benefits remain available to eligible family members.
