From the 153rd General Assembly, this Act amends the Charter of the City of Harrington to authorize the City Council to impose and collect a lodging tax of up to 3% on hotel, motel, and tourist home stays within city limits. This tax is in addition to the state lodging tax under Title 30. The substitute removes the retroactive effective date from the original bill. Passage required a two-thirds vote in each chamber, per Delaware’s constitutional requirements for charter amendments.
